Had a great workout today. After some stretching, went on an elyptical trainig and had my heartrate at lactate threshold for 30 minutes. Then, did weight circuit training for 20 minutes- alternating between a lower body exercise and upper body exercise, 20-30 reps each, no breaks between sets. Turns it into a quasi-lactate threshold workout- a great strength/endurance exercise to do. Then ended it off with a 30 minute easy swim.

Feeling tired tonight as I write in my blog! It was nice to be able to do a lower body workout on the elyptical and not feel a strain in my achilles and not have it feeling sore afterwards. Should be on my way to recovery- I'll give it another week likely before getting into my regular running routine. I have enjoyed the swimming and will continue with it in my regular training. I'll have to add in some swimming drills though to keep it interesting and to get a better cardio workout. I was suprised by how my body reacted to the swimming this week. I had not swam in a couple of years much less swimming for 50 minutes wach day for a week. I initially though my arms and upper body would bonk after a day or two, but they stayed strong. Also wasn't sure how my body would respond to a different type of cardio workout, but it felt good all week.
