Great weather today- warm and sunny. Got the mountain bike out and went for a hard 55 minute bike ride then turned it into a brick workout by adding a 2 mile tempo run in after I got back from the bikeride. I had forgotten how stiff legged you can get during the transition from the bike to the run!

Nice workout! I have never run after biking (though I have thought about doing a diathlon [spelling?]), I can only imagin how tight your legs feel, especially after a hard bike ride. Way to go!

Thanks Camille! It's a great workout and great training for a duathlon (close on the spelling ; )

You should try one this season- sprint ditance isn't a bad for beginners. It's usally 1-2 mile run, 13 mile bike and 3-5 mile run depending on the course.

Hey, I might just do that. The only bummer is that I ride a mountain bike, and therefore get a great work out, but am not exactly speedy.

I've seen alot of people racing a duathlon on a mountain bike. Just test the waters to see if you like it. Worst case scenerio is you have a great story to put on here!
